I honestly feel bad for devs in these situations, this has to be 100% a forced corporate decision. Must feel awful to be forced to ruin your game like this.

i honestly am on the fence,
on one hand it's fucking retarded to have microtransactions in a single player game
but on the other, if all it does is allow rich idiots to buy shit that doesn't affect anyone else, what's the cost?

Your experience is affected. These micro transactions make money, so companies are incentivized to make more and make them more prominent/necessary. Look at GTA online, buying anything without Shark cards is misery.
