Why indeed?

I've been playing around with all the weapon types. Started with Switch Axe, moved to Hammer, now I like everything but the lances, dual blades, sword and shield, and gunner weapons.

I think it's because they lack big finishers, but then again so does the insect glaive.

Anyone have advice on how to make those weapons more fun to use?

Knowing what attack to do is useful, same with knowing when to use shots. I starting playing with GL a little bit in 3U and it was pretty straight forward. The only "complicated" thing that I encountered was being able to use the up-thrust effectively.

in FU there's almost no forced immobility on GL (except when you use shelling), you can use it more reliably with the evasion skill and it feels less clunky overall, especially since pretty much all the new moves in P3rd don't really do enough damage for how sluggish they feel, I absolutely fucking despise how the vertical slam replaces the third poke
I hope I'm making sense, I'm having a hard time finding the right words to describe it

Every hunting party should have a lancer. I ran into one guy who had crammed Guard +2 and Taunt into his set and spent 90% of our hunts tanking every single hit while the rest of the team unloaded on the monster. Is this it? Is World going to be the game that gets me into Gunnery? From Gen 2 onward I tried and tried and tried but it was never fun (especially the fucking Bows, god damn), but that LBG World move set video that came out a couple of weeks ago made it look actually not shit.

Not really in the whole siege/sniper/immobile shit going on with HBG but the other 2 look nice plus it looks like there won't be gunner/blademaster variants of armors which is another big boon to getting people to cozy up to them. Finally I really think its fair we get a new Gunner weapon next, shit is a long time coming.
