I can tell you from a manufacturing standpoint that most of the components for memory, etc., from ODMs are specifically being allocated for the Nintendo Switch, so to a certain extent, there is a limit, but Nintendo is paying to make it happen in their favor (and of course the ODMs get paid for every one they produce, and the demand is high, so there's a lot that needs to be made in a short time).

Where the scarcity is actually coming is is here in America, where our commerce fosters a feasible living off of buying a shitload of something and reselling it for a higher price. If enough people do that, then you create scarcity, and all of a sudden this leech business model is self-sustaining.

In Europe, you can find one anywhere, and it's not because people hate Nintendo, it's because for some reason scalping is just bigger in America.

You can go on eBay, Amazon, etc., any place that has a third party seller, and you can see shitloads of these resellers with fucking mountains of units, because thy make a living off of going around, buying up stock from places in the middle of the day, and just reposting that shit online with at least a 100 dollar mark-up.

Let me tell you outright, right now? Switch has no games. It really doesn't and trying to debate that is just sad. Does it have a future? sure. I can see it, but it won't happen for a good 2-3 years like msot newer gen consoles. PS4 was the same way, I waited till 2016 to get my PS4 and it paid off, I had about 5 games from 2014-2016 i was interested in, and like 10 in 2017 alone.
So far my switch has seen 300 hours total play time since march 3rd.

We've got two (one black and one red/blue). Also got the pink/green & yellow joycons and two pro controllers. Got 5 physical games and 6 eShop titles each.

Fun console. I play it more than my PS4/Xbone right now, but not as much as my PC (mostly due to being able to play it in odd places, it is interesting how much downtime you discover to play when you have a compelling portable like this).

The one thing I wish is that the Joycon analog sticks didn't suck so bad. Seriously they are TERRIBLE. Good luck doing ANYTHING with precision. They are small, no deadzone (normally a good thing) and highly sensitive. Makes Splatoon or even Zelda entirely unplayable without the Pro controller (which feels more like other traditional analog stick inputs).

Hopefully Nintendo puts out a "Joycon Pro" add-on with sticks meant for human hands, not toddler mutants.

Yeah and Splatoon puts its own spin on it that keeps it fresh. Name me one other shooter that has anything remotely comparable to the inking mechanics in Splat one or two

as a consumer I don't think anybody on /v/ wants to pay for online, but it's a standard in the industry now, developers make money from it and people are willing to pay so don't expect it to go away
