In a way I do agree with OP, shoddily localized porn games being available for cheap on Steam makes the bad work available to lots of people, and makes patching in machine translations to RPG Maker eroge actually legit form of business. But the idiots on Steam don't have a point of reference, so they are eating SakuraGame's shit releases up and keep buying them ironically. Since they don't spend money on localization, they can afford to make prices cheap as shit, but average Steam customer won't fucking care, or even realize that.

If you want gameplay, check out Rance(the whole series, there's general on /vg/ and they should be able to get you started) and Kamidori. They are pretty high-quality, and also really accessible. Bunny Black is also good, but kinda clunky at points, though I really enjoyed the characters.
If you just want porn, it usually depends on what fetish you are looking for. There's plenty of good ones translated now, though honorary mention still goes to Bible Black. I'm serious, it's such a great combination of porn and plot. Other honorary mentions go to Beat Blades Haruka(some light gameplay here too) and Rondo Duo(if you don't hate futa).
For the lower-budget, RPG Maker games I'd recommend Salvation, Virgin Island, JC Fight and Rune's Pharmacy. They're all pretty fun, and forgo the usual porn trope of having girl be absolutely miserable during sex, even when she's supposed to be enjoying it.

...Frankly, I have not played bigger budget(comparatively) eroge that'd nail good gameplay, have decent pacing for sex scenes, and have them actually be good.
