I don't think you can extrapolate that both of the games aren't canon from that just because they said that they're replacing the story mode with a different mode. In the same interview they said "Deep and serious stories will develop through these games, but we want to put in crazy elements and colorful elements that cannot be done in the main story" which implies that they're still going to work on an interesting story for the game even if there isn't a story mode.

I think the interview is really vague and we can't say either way just yet.

It depends on the style of it that's being used. Raqus Baraquite (or whatever) is incredibly sensual and flirtatious but there are style that are very conservative, involving little hip or leg movement.
