The soundtrack is absolutely god-tier.

Despite not being finished and being pretty damn glitchy, game was fun. Never gets boring. Snowboarding gems can go to hell though.

I couldn't get into it. I gave it a shot because my mate said it was good, maybe even better than the originals, but it was Jak 2 tier clunky as fuck, the a capella sound track grating, wasn't impressive in the aesthetic department, and didn't really grab my attention in the first 2 hours or so. Last time I listen to his opinion on what's good vidya and reaffirmed to always do the opposite of what /v/ says.

I 100% the originals when I was kid. Having to redo the whole section because I missed a gem because of clunky phyiscs was not fun.

I see the game as the beginning of the awful turn of events the upcoming games would follow. The game started flanderizing the characters. N. Gin was no longer his designated role as being the straight man to Neo Cortex, Neo Cortex himself they turned into some sort of butt monkey and corssdresser. Crash was turned into a grinning, braindead zombie. The music was acapella, not Crash at all, even so it was for the most part just uninspiring. It damaged the series more than what it did good. Also the game started using toilet-humor.

Apparently one of the dev for the game hangs around on Neogaf and told people there that he and the other developers meet up frequently discussing how Twinsanity should turn out. Almost came across as smug, mentioning how one of them works as the producer for the N. Sane Trilogy and hopes that they'll remake Twinsanity. I hope that's not the case at all. It's better to just go on with a new timeline altogether after they hopfully remaster Crash Team Racing. Just the Naughty Dogs game, everything else should just left be as it is. Besides, the only developers who have been through and most likely understands what makes a Crash game is Vicarious Visions these days anyways.

I really wish Crash would have some sort of renaissance here soon. I always loved not only the gameplay, but the lore and character dynamics of Crash. It didn't need a complicated plot line or forced politics like all this other new-age shit coming out. It was just good guy vs. Bad guy trying to take over the world. Playing the Crash remaster recently almost actually made me cry from childhood nostalgia.
I wonder what it is about these types of games that just die off so quickly though. Sonic also suffered the same fate, and really wasn't too different from Crash either.

Yeah, the entire thing felt 'off' in every way.
You can compare N.Gin's battle themes between 2, 3, and Twinsanity. In 3, his theme is a remix of his original one in 2, but in Twinsanity...I'm really not even sure what I'm listening to? Hardly even sounds like music. Also he's striking out against Cortex for some reason? Despite being his loyal lackey in every game before AND after Twinsanity? Then Brio and Tropy pop in outta fucking nowhere and also want a piece of the pie. And are working together? Or I assume. I mean, Brio doesn't even talk here, which is weird considering he...was in..the first...GAME!
Overall, gameplay itself wasn't too terrible. But all the characters felt like Chinese bootleg versions of themselves, which kinda hurt the series.

I think it's because Brio never really became 'good'. He's probably still evil in 2, he just wants to fuck over Cortex for being a jerk all those years.

however, it really feels rushed and/unfinished. Besides the bugs and some things that feel like poor coding, it was also short

I haven't played it since launch year so I watched a playthrough of it recently. Fuck me, it's a lot less polished than I thought. I know everyone goes on about how unfinished it is, but my memory of it wasn't as sharp.

There are missing SFX in practically EVERY in-game cutscene. Some boss fights are completely redundant and just dropped in the middle of levels - the worst offender being N.Gin followed right up with the N.Tropy and N.Gin duo fight. It's also super obvious that they lacked the budget or time to voice Brio, since he doesn't say a single word the entire game.

And that's all without mentioning some of the glitched enemy AI, objects in wrong places, fucked hitboxes and more.

At least we got the single best series boss fight out of it

Her original backstory was interesting since she could've been experimented with as an anti-hero or neutral character through out the series.
>Even though she is a Cortex, Nina had an unnatural love for cute furry animals and she was also generally kind-hearted. Her uncle, Neo, saw this as potentially bad. So he replaced her hands with bionic steel fists so that she would be unable to get close to animals without crushing them and killing them (by accident). He then sent her to his old school, Madame Amberly's Academy of Evil to develop a bad behaviour, hoping that she would become just as evil as him.
Unfortunately radical era just turned her into a brat.
