It doesn't look any more offensive than Mario&Sonic at the Olympics and other crap like that. Well that doesn't mean anything good but at least it's nothing like the complete distaster people were expecting.

I'm expecting pure mediocrity. People are only singing its praises because they started out with rock-bottom expectations. Looking at the actual gameplay, it's basically babby's first nu-XCOM, with very few of the things that make XCOM enjoyable.

>boring New Super Mario-esque setpieces
>static characters, no perma-death
>nothing even resembling the geoscape, between battles all you do is just walk around
>boring skill tree progression
>will probably be piss easy (video game journalism aside)

And it doesn't even look appealing from a fanservice perspective, half the cast is made up of shitty rabbids. The game would be much better as a pure Mario game that could incorporate the more interesting obscurer characters.
