What the hell did you even mean by that? Most cores are based on popular emulators, there's literally no difference in playing PSX through Mednafen standalone or the Mednafen core.

According to the dev the original PPSSPP core's code was a mess which is why they never tried to fix it, the new one was totally rewritten based on the PPSSPP git, since it's based on the mobile code it might actually end up being better than the standalone.

Only if you're using the official desmume build.
x432r runs faster, though it has problems with the opengl, but even on software mode it doesn't need as much power as the official build to play at higher resolutions.
Plus you can set the screens at different sizes, which is the only reason I still use it.

The problem is that desmume was supposed to focus on accuracy, which is why it ran so bad at first, but what it really meant was "accuracy as long as it doesn't work for pokemon games", because pokemon apparently killed the dev's family.
