What makes SFV so terrible? I played a demo of it and thought it was alright. About as good as SF4, which is to say, nowhere near as good as the other shit out right now, but still playable.

-load times are pretty bad
-crush counter ruins neutral
-v trigger makes it so that you extend combos to the point where 1 successful mix up = you win
-many of the characters feel uninspired aside from a few exceptions like Alex and Akuma
-horrid survival mode mixed with no arcade mode and a dumb story mode means single player shit is almost non-existant
-fight money is way too hard to get after a certain point and you essentially need to pay unless you NEET the fuck out of the game

someone who's played the game more in depth can probably give you better reasons

I haven't played al of those, but one thing is certain: Tekken deserves the lowest spot.

Fightcade? In any case, skip SFV, easily the worst fighting game I've played this decade - you might like Tekken depending on how well you can move. I'd recommend Guilty Gear or King of Fighters instead if you're looking for another game, though. BlazBlue is also a pretty okay game

I'm interested in getting Tekken 7 since it's on pc, don't want to pay for PS Plus for the anime fighters. I don't really like combo heavy games, I prefer learning fundamentals rather than long combos.

If you prefer fundamentals, Guilty Gear does that just as well especially with how oki-oriented it is. It's on Steam as well. Tekken 7 is all about whiff-punishing and capitalizing on your opponents recovery frames. Both are pretty fun so take your pick
