The remaster is a much worse way to play, though. They redid iconic voice acting, fucked a whole lot up, and actually ended up using an earlier build of Silent Hill 2 than the release one.

The most egregious offenses to me was the sounds were completely fucked up, the voice actors were different, and they completely retextured some areas with an apparent grab bag of colors and patterns.
