So far so good. Wish the Splatoon and/or Arms updates would hurry the fuck up, but the Neo Geo games and Namco Museum are keeping me occupied for now. Still debating whether or not I want to stomach rabbids in order to give Mario XCOM a try.

Theres a lot of cool indie shit coming out on PC that I feel compelled to wait until the switch version comes out just so I have a the opportunity to play said game in bed.

Im annoyed Ive had to send in all my joycons to get that insulating foam put in so that the wireless works in the joycons
and I've had the back chassis of the console replaced once already from a couple of very tiny tumbles.

Its kind of the console I wish the Vita was rather than having to buy a Vita TV as well as a vita.

I love it as a handheld device, finally a Nintendo handheld that feels next gen.
The home console side is terrible and I will never use it, I always imagined the dock would be additional power to hook up to TV rather then a plastic shell that makes your console melt.
As for games, Zelda and Splatoon are great, waiting for more releases and hope they make new Animal Crossing and Bayonetta.
Would be good if they made improved ports of N64 games, something like Sega did with those 3D arcade games which were the best games I've played on my 3DS.

Yeah. The portability is really good for me since I have multiple roommates and only one good TV.

I already played Zelda on Wii U and didn't like it enough to ever bother replaying it so mine is just a Disgaea 5 machine at the moment. I kind of regret buying Splatoon 2. Well as a console I think it's wonderful, both portable and home.

The problem is the games, I bought it at launch and Zelda is still my only game, I don't like multiplayer games so Splatoon and MK8 don't interest me. Handheld Zelda is super comfy, Arms has also been a blast and it keeps casuals out because of how intense the matches can get.

Inbetween Splatooning, I've been playing that Fate/Extella thing to scratch that musou itch until Fire Emblem Warriors comes out.

It's an amazing 2D platformer (probably the best one ever objectively , when taking into consideration all aspects of it) created by an indie studio from kickstarter money. Usually that's a red flag, but Shovel Knight is the only indie game all those wannabes are trying to imitate. It combines aspects from every good NES game and polishes them into one of the best games ever made in my opinion. 25 bucks seems a little steep at first, but it's really 5 games in one, because of the free DLC the devs keep adding. They essentially create full sequels in the form of "boss campaigns," each with unique gameplay, new levels, new stories, new music, etc. They're all free, and they're still making them. Shovel Knight is already solid on its own, but the extra stuff is what really makes it. Plague of Shadows is like a remix of the original with a new story, and Specter of Torment is a 100% new game as a prequel. The projected name of the next one is King of Cards, and that one is very likely to be awesome as well. Plus they're adding a multiplayer battle mode with all these characters, all for free. I know I sound like a massive shill right now, but I can't stress enough how much I love this game and the direction its devs have taken it in. It's definitely my favorite game of all time.

Also the main castlevania elements are in the level design (especially the Lich Yard) and in the fact that Wall Chicken is a thing

Depends on how you play games. I list my complaints about the game because after a while the core gameplay becomes quite boring. The combat, which to me is the bulk of the game is not as satisfying as youd want it to be. Now if youre okay with the classic zelda formula of 4 hits and repeat then this is for you, but in this modern open world it just doesnt cut it. Its 4 hits -> ragdoll -> chase after enemy and again. Link being silent is a staple in the series but depending on whether or not you want tto be invested in a story it really doesnt matter after beating ganon i have almost no attachment to any of the characters besides the rito. the main story itself is kinda underwhelming, and i beleive this is due to the openness of the game it just didnt stick with me. alot the interesting things in this game most likely end up becoming shrine bait or korok bait, which was so disappointing to me. idk, its probably just me and you'll probably really like the game, but take what i said as you will, in the end, its your choice.
