So I moved into a rural area, and I only have satellite internet. I can no longer play games online, unless they are turn based.
What are some good modern games that aren't real-time that I can play online?
Pokemon
or alternatively play one of the 100,000 good games released before xbox360
You poor bastard. I'm in the same boat. I have Hughes Net Gen 5. It's crazy fast when I have my data but when they throttle it downloads drop to 200kpbs.
Give up playing online. I've tried.

I'm glad someone else is in my position. This is quite the change when it comes to my computer use. Maybe its for the better.
you don't like a good single player experience op?

Latency works different with satellite internet. It's pretty much impossible to play anything online, like shooters.

>tfw you grew up in a town of 400
>tfw you graduated high school in a town of 4500
my county is super rural. I had satellite internet before I left for uni in 2007. It was awful to play WoW on that shit. I had 3000 ping or something. lol i had to play pure pve and even then it was lag shitfest.
since then I've never had to fuck with it.
My tips to you are to just start enjoying offline games. older pc games will do you fine. there are tons and tons. Or just any single player game.
play some civ 5

I do, but it's been a long time. I pretty much have to change to a single-player game person now, unless theres a good turnbased game out there.

Well i'll have to look into that then , seems interesting

Why the fuck did you move to a rural area then

Try 800 ping mofo. And that's on a good day. It can go as high as 1200.

It's not all bad anon. There's too much online bullshit. Go play a good story driven single player game. Let yourself get immersed like you use to. It's fun. And there's always local co-op. I play a lot of games withmy wifealthough they're very picky about certain genres.

I guess early morning is the best time to play online, not very convenient, but its something.

That video is about using Hughnet Gen 4, Gen 5 just came out in April and it's 10x faster with way more data. Even my throttled speed is faster than Gen 4.
