Mediocre story that relies on a lot of stupid writing and dumb cliches to move the plot along. The main cast is pretty dull and only one of the villains are actually interesting. Some of the side characters are amusing though.

Gameplay that has a neat concept but is terribly unbalanced and easily broken which doesn't allow much flexibility in tactics, especially if you want to get the highest rank on stages. You either break the game by using Scouts or gimp yourself by not using them at all because they're the only class that can actually cross the map and capture camps without taking ten years to do so.

All in all an ok game but gets seriously overrated. The sequels improve the gameplay at the cost of doing almost everything else worse.
