Just finished this. Was pleasantly surprised. How is the sequel?

Better.
Better levels, less soul.
>>386471867
Better, but it gets shit on by some for not coming first
>>386471867
2 is the better game in my eyes but it lacks the atmosphere of the first.

>soul
I'd rather get better gameplay and game design over autistic and subjective shit like "soul".
Better in every way except characters, but who cares about characters in a Mario game.

How is the OST in the second one? Some of the tracks were great, especially the ones fighting Bowser when the choir kicked in, but others felt totally forgettable.

It's been a while since I played but I think it's pretty much equal with or slightly better than the first one.

just as good
I wonder if they'll ever get remastered they look fucking amazing in Dolphin at a decent resolution compared to the wii
2nd game is less fun and more formulaic. 1st game felt more like you were exploring the levels and more open ended in my opinion. 2 just felt like you went from level to level just to get to the end.
>>386472341
Expect much of the same, excellent stuff
>>386472656
How do you feel about it independently of the first game?
>>386471867
Better and anyone who says otherwise is a fucking faggot
>>386471867
Both SMG games are fantastic, although the 2nd one is the better game. If you enjoyed the first one you'll definitely enjoy the 2nd one.
>>386471867
They are both amazing games, but for me galaxy 1 just had a better more mysterious atmosphere.
>>386471867
It's basically an expansion. Better gameplay but is a little more formulaic.
What sucks about SMG2 is that you are forced to do every star, even if you hate the level. The first game allows you to skip stars and levels and even "worlds" if you don't want to do them, while Galaxy 2 puts strict star requirements to progress at multiple points in every world, giving you no freedom. You HAVE TO do every star, otherwise you can't progress. And the feeling of being forced to constantly do things you don't want to detracts a lot from the game.
I believe the levels are also more linear.
It's an Nintenbabby game so it's shit and for toddlers liek the average Nintendo fan

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is pure ludomania.

Puzzle Plank Galaxy is the best Mario song.
it's the same game but improved
What's your IQ OP?
The Mario Galaxy games basically have nothing going for them from a gameplay/movement perspective so I'm guessing you just like the pretty colors and music.
>>386471867
Somehow easier. Only Nintendo.

Nice bait.

This is the best way to explain it.
The second has better level design and explores a lot of new concepts, but there's something missing. It's slightly NSMBised, homogenised and takes less risks than the original.
>>386475627
What, that's totally the opposite
>>386475831
>Green stars instead of replying as Luigi
>More levels and more variety
>Builds off of concepts from the first game like flip blocks
>New powerups
>More content
I fail to see how it's bad that a sequel takes less risks when it's straight up the better product.
