I want to get the Anima weapon for my DRK. Density farming is pure cancer, and if I have to believe online guides, I have to run ~around 100 HW dungeons or pvp to finish this part.
I don't understand, they nerfed literally every other step to oblivion (except for Umbrite/Sand, it is still asscancer and they should have nerfed it way more). Why not this one? Just how common is it for people to use bots? I met a guy a few months ago who basically never seemed to go offline. Sometimes he would respond to me and other times he wouldn't. It became pretty obvious he was botting, but when I started to look around, usually late at night, I realized there were a lot of people botting.

Eventually the guy admitting to botting, but what I didn't know was to what extent that he was botting. He said he even botted in raids. Like he would play his character but the bot did ALL of his dps rotations. And apparently the bot was pretty good at it, he said he was always top 3 in his guild in dps. He also said he could even use his bot to heal. All he would do is move the character around while the bot figured out the best choice for healing spells.

Balancing PvE skills for PvP is a hassle and their PvE balance in HW was hella retarded;
Gamepads;

depth considerations would rank distant third although obviously reducing overall number of inputs and removing levels was done in the name of accessibility

I play TESO on the side. It's ok, but often it makes me appreciate FFXIV more, like classes that are well designed and have a clear role in their party, a combat system that isn't a spastic clusterfuck, burst damage, glamours, a working dungeon finder, and an almost complete lack of youtubers and streamers who dictate what the current meta is supposed to be.

They added like 5 dungeons and 4 trials which were basically the endgame, and the relic quest that was at the time quite obnoxious. All of that didn't last even a year but the effort was there.

For WHM it's really a personal choice thing assuming you're making an informed decision. And keep in mind that anything you meld is going to have a relatively tiny impact on your numbers and effectively as a healer. Healer meld discussion is just about as autistic and esoteric as it gets when it comes to ffxiv theorycrafting.

That said there's plenty of theory about what's best on paper, but that doesn't really translate into what's best in a real fight. For example on paper SpS is a god stat because it can confer a lot of extra gcds over the course of a long-ish fight. In reality it's not that great because it's very difficult to get 99% DPS uptime on the boss as a healer when you're progressing through savage, all of the extra gcds you were supposed to get on paper get eaten by having to heal or res unexpectedly or having to move to do mechanics without being able to cast. So really SpS is only the best stat when you're on a target dummy or when you can continually cast uninterrupted for long periods of time.

I would say the safest choice is mostly Det melds. Not the most exciting thing, but they'll confer a small bonus to your damage and healing that's 100% reliable. On paper Crit is trashy until you get up in the 2-2.5k range (total). I think it's okay before then, but it's not a standout by any means.

I used to use a bunch of pentamelded direct hit shit but that was just memes. I noticed the extra DH rate on parses but I don't think it made a huge difference in actual DPS, maybe 50 points or something but that's been overshadowed by primary stat gains from upgrading gear. As I've replaced with 330/340 I've switched to mostly Crit with some Det with a high-ish "native" SpS from my gear. I don't think that's best, it's just what I like.
