Has there ever been a single romance/love interest, that you didn't get to choose yourself, in a video game that you eventually gave a shit about?

No.
>>386457792
Why?
Honestly can't think of any. It's partially because video games have a tendency to rely on the same boring character archetypes for the love interest inparticular, and partially because they just aren't well-written. Romances typically feel like a 'token' that they need to check off the list, so they just take shortcuts. That's probably why the boring childhood friend love interest is used so much.
I liked the romance story in Yakuza 0. It wasn't anything amazing, but I enjoyed it.
Jenny in The Darkness. Only the first one, I stopped caring about her in the sequel, that game was such a fuck.

Yeah, Jenny was really great.
In fact, I think that's about the only pre-made romance that I ever gave a shit about.
>>386458413
Have you played The Darkness perhaps? That might change your mind.

Remember anon,it's not your fault.

Not a romance, but I felt involved in the relation between Booker and Elizabeth, I really wanted to protect her through the game, and thanks god, it's a useful character you don't even have to protect. Until now, I think she's the best support character I've seen in a game.
I know a lot of people hate Bioshock Infinite, but I love it and especially because you have this connection with her, you don't feel alone through the game, that's something I really like in games, to have someone, even fictional to take part of my adventure.

Mr Nobody/The Boxer in Transistor is cute, CUTE!

Angelus/Kaine/2B

During The Witcher 3 I started to feel that Geralt should be with Triss instead of Yennifer. Probably not what you meant, but no, I've never actually felt a personal connection to a vidya romance.
>>386460794
Was talking about pre-made romances that the devs made. In a way, your reply fits, because Triss was a pre-made romance, but not the definitive one.
>>386460083
I share your sentiment anon.
>>386460083
Oh you mean that girl who ends up with severe split personality and drowning the player?
Never stick your heart in crazy anon
>>386457613
>>386457613
Jenny wasn't meant to die. fuck
>Gordon? I'm glad you're here *smiles*
>>386462356
I have no idea how that guy thought he was getting out of that one alive.
>>386460794
Triss is a terrible human being

It's a shame the game is only on ps3/360. I'd love to download it right now and give it another play.

>The only thing between me and Satan is this window
>I wonder what'll happen if I shoot his waifu right in front of him
I love Reisen!
>>386459282
I have, and I forgot about that. It was pretty nice by video game standards. I was thinking more of romances that develop over the game, rather than ones already started from the beginning. Not that the latter are typically decent either.
>>386462882
Probably the worst decision ever made.
>>386463635
>>386457613
Metro Last Light was ok
>>386463768
Was it? It was your typical tsun-tsun bullshit.
I would have found it more in tone with the setting/books if she was to lie with him because he was the only one still kicking around.
>>386463874
They both had super-ebola and thought they were going to die or something.
>>386464250
Wasn't that after they were cleared though?
>>386465336
No, I think it was while in the quarantine.
>>386457613
>>386457904
Thanks for reminding me about this stupid faggot game's shit ending
Literally no reasonMC couldn't have stayed on the island while his friends leave like he says he wanted to earlier in the game
>>386466171
Yeah, that happened only because a writer at Ubisoft wanted to give the middle finger to the players.
