Uzumaki had a great ending if you like hopeless, uncontrollable forces dominating people's lives. The Enigma of Amigara Fault is also a great ending, creepy, doesn't linger on the story anymore and leaves you with plenty of info to dwell on.

Most of Junji Ito's stories could be transformed into an amazing horror vydia without a lot of effort, his body horror is the best I have ever seem.

Of course, given the short length of his stories, he can get away with not explaning a LOT of shit that happens during it, but I guess that is what makes it interesting, it is not too complicated to create something disgusting or repulsive if you do not need to explain its origins and the reason why it is like that.
