This really only applies to Dark Souls. DeS and BB, despite gameplay similarities, are pretty original works.

Namco was a mistake, although I don't blame FromSoft for taking free money from the PC audience. Seems they'll buy any scraps they can get.

Best objectively in almost every category aside from world interconnection (DkS1), bosses (arguably DkS3), innovation (DeS).
Weapons, combat, atmosphere, narrative, enemies, level design, razor-sharp mechanics, balance, etc, all superior in BB. I sure hope you aren't a DkS1 secondary 1-star man or a DkS2 contrarian.

The bosses are superb in DkS3. Even then, it's arguable if they're really better than BB's; BB has more stinker bosses, but they're also much more atmospheric.

Compare that to DkS1/2 and DeS, where they're even more barebones typically. Most bosses un the early games are like 5-7 moves, no phases, no mechanics, can't parry or BS them, and squishy as fuck.
