The one thing I hate about people who stream/make videos today is that they're only doing it for the money.

My friend I know irl actually wont get a job because he thinks he's going to become a successful streamer, and I've watched him and he's boring as fuck.

You can only make people like you/your streams/your videos if you make yourself relevant, and you cant go in with the mind set,

So, come tax time, I can file my personal clothes, all fast food/delivery food, computer parts, and pretty much everything I needed as business expense as long as I kept the receipt. Since I'd almost always make less than 8k doing this(the most someone can get away legally without filing tax) if I wasn't gonna make good tax return that year I just didn't file tax for streaming that year. I've moved onto delivery work now though since I can make actual money.

So this streaming group consisted of a few friends and friends of friends, however the issue started with this one dude in the group, B. I used to be close friends with him but between him threatening to kill himself over really stupid shit, one of which was losing a game of smash bros, hitting on any girl days within meeting them including me, even after I told him I wasn't interested he said he was joking and then still continued his horrid attempts at flirting and in general being an insufferable prick I dropped him fairly quickly. He’s in the group and becomes one of the more popular members. Now for now the only people who have an issue with B is me and my other friend who had been present at the aforementioned suicide threats, C. At some point B starts dating another person, G. G was a fan of the streams and drew fan art, and started dating B who invited them to the group.
Now it should be noted that me and C have seen how B gets into relationships, he finds vulnerable timid girls and pressures them into relationships. So we talk to G for a bit and warn them that B has this pattern and to be careful when dealing with him. Of course this doesn’t go well with B when he hears it, and almost always has G in a call with him. I really bad fight happens between the 2, forgot over what, but some highlights include B calling C "racist ableist trash" and B calling G crying and him even putting his confused mom on the phone to prove a point, so B gets kicked for posting all the chatlogs to every streaming group chat and in general for trying to take people with him. So for a few months everything went alright

I know a streamer who does exactly that for only a specific part of a game and he gets lots of views. He makes videos about cars and racing in GTA V. He describes the characteristics of each car and does lap times in all of them to show which is the fastest.

So kicking B out of the group had some people leave because I guess they only watched it for him? There was a small subgroup of people that even wrote fanfiction about the dude it was fucked. But back on topic, there was a bit of trouble brewing within the chat regulars, all of it stemming from a single person and almost everyone else was against this person for being toxic and sending death threats to other members in the past at some point. It started because of some LISA fangame that had rape in its title I think. However he is a very consistent regular, so he and another regular get promoted to moderators. By now there are a few new people in the streaming group and a few new fans however promoting the toxic dude to admin caused some waves and fans leaving. G also invited a few new people, who were mods one minute then full-fledged streamers the next. What’s also important to note is that G and the creator of the group are in a relationship now. Now something about that felt off at the time but it wouldn’t become noticeable until it was too late.
Apparently it is just in the people that watched us to write fanfiction, 2 people wrote fanfiction about the people in the group, hell one dude wrote multiple but I had to shoot one story down because it involved all of the fans and streamers dying gruesome deaths and in general made everyone uncomfortable. The other fanfiction writer in our small fanbase decided to write something about our group crossing over with some dubstep label, but decided I was a boring cunt and even wrote that in the story me being a jerk who beat people up. It irked me at first but looking back on it now it’s hilarious. Now everyone finds out about this dude, and just rip the kid apart. He threatens suicide to G and their friend P, who was one of the newer members that just kind of appeared overnight. They tell him to do a flip and he fucks off the internet for a while.

Remember the other fanfiction writer? Being a chat regular and the best friend of the new mod got him into the group as a mod as well. Dude was obsessed with Hotline Miami and was writing a Hotline Miami esqe story about the group, it was better than the previous guys writing but it still feels weird reading fanfiction about yourself. But sometimes the dude would make very uncalled for comments, which include telling any female friends you have about both your sexual and nonsexual fantasies you have about them, and even making poorly drawn porn of them, the new moderator (the one who didn’t send death threats) who was his best friend at the time got the brunt of it, and we keep trying to sit this guy down and tell him to cut it or he’ll be kicked from the group. He doesn’t so he gets kicked. It is around this time I should mention the several secret shit talk servers that have opened around the group. There were 2 I believe around this time, which no one in the group was told about and was essentially a place to talk shit about members of the group or people in general. So new mod is just getting all this shit about the person who was recently kicked and somehow it gets out that the dude jacked it into a banana peel. Now toxic mod thinks this is the funniest thing ever. He makes a million jokes about it and ran it faster into the ground that reddit. However everyone just keeps railing this dude over that and it gets so bad that he just leaves the internet. Drops every social media thing, I still don’t know if he’s around or if he killed himself.
P is a new streamer who would only cohost, because some people in the group couldn't get the shit necessary to stream so they didn't, I think of the people in the group only like 6 people streamed on a regular basis, everyone else cohosted. We still have our multitude of shit talk servers which I was always invited to for some reason, and more people began to voice their dislike of the group.

P and G become very fast friends, however something was really weird about their relationship, like they were into the tumblr crowd with otherkin type stuff, but like it bleed into the group, where a member was talking about their distaste of yandere sim and got snipped at for not liking yanderes because G was kin with like fucking chara and yandere characters. So now the group has a slight tense feel to it, people don’t talk out their issues the main people just retreat into their shit talk servers and let the spite grow, and this issue became really prevalent when we decided to do a DnD campaign. It was started by the cool mod, a few people join including myself and C. G joins at some point and writes up her character which was just a character from League with a hat which acted like a bag of holding.
C having been DMs in a few campaigns brings it up, saying that he’d be ok with it but a bag of holding is a hell of a rare starting item. G gets really defensive, C tries to explain himself and gets blocked on all platforms by G. C has major whiplash because they were good friends, C and I being the ones to get G out of their relationship with B. C brings this up to P who he was also friends with, but P instead delivers all the chatlogs to G and then P gives him a list of all the reasons that P never liked C and cuts him out completely. C and P start yet another shit talk server, one I wasn’t invited to which was made to shit talk C for questioning why a level 1 character started with a bag of holding. Of course they knew they couldn't kick him out because he was a staple of the group, but all his messages and attempts and conversation were drowned out and all his pinned messages mysteriously vanished.

so after cool mod gets dropped, they talk to C about their shared experience of being dropped over fucking nothing, and other members have since picked up on it and everyone has had enough of their shit. So we make a plan to all leave after new year. We're just talking to other people about what's happened with the group and more people bring more stuff about G and their group. a few months later, the group founder comes to us because G is abusive in their relationship and wants our help to get out of it. So using the control over the group, the founder deletes all the voice channels and strips them of their admin powers before leaving the group.
that's the end of it, everything else tends to be anecdotal, also pretty sure toxic mod still stalks everyone who left

the biggest issue with twitch streaming for new guys is twitch orders the streams numerically so there is no chance people are going to see your stream if there is already 20+ streams.

I have a similar friend. He's the single child of rich, retired parents who let him live at home rent free. He got a degree 5 or so years ago, but all he does is smoke weed and play Rainbow Six Siege/PUBG while streaming. He's in his late 20's so I figure he can enjoy the lifestyle for a few more years
