I just played through it a week ago, it's probably about the best game I've ever played. Story captured me, gameplay is phenomenal, combat is superb and bosses are really fun. Very fluid feeling amazing game, with really neat areas too. Also neat touches like tail-cutting, bosses returning as enemies, mini-bosses in the world, etc.

I might say a 6. Izalith is boring, and while demon ruins is fun, it can be accessed before Anor Londo so doesn't count. Catacombs area is the same as demon ruins, though I do like the dark area. Archives and crystal cave both suck, and New Londo is way too short.

Don't get me wrong I love the game but after that point it's pretty unremarkable. That said people that call that the second half of the game are dead wrong. It's more like the final quarter.
