Another anon told me I can go in here to cure all my ailments but I suspect I must solve this. That, or I am missing a secret hidden button I have not found yet.

CLASS BASICS:
>Warrior - Good frontliner, can don any armor (depends on race still, however), starts with boost in most melee weapon, but that's the limit. Outclassed later on by Smiths.

I say so. I can't put this game down. The basic gameplay loop is incredible, finding secrets, investigating areas, mind reading npcs to figure out information. Charming an npc and stealing all their shit they are selling. This is a really good and competent DRPG.

Sometimes actions can get a little confused on the first turn of combat if they're 'remembered' from a previous combat. Try switching it to a different option, selecting that, then switching back. Also try clicking the square that shows the number of which rank you're targeting to change it manually.

I have done that now, and still cannot find my way into the newly revealed area (I assume I need to put the owl in the hole) but I still can't find the owl. I don't have it in my inventory, and I'm not sure where to get it.

can bards get lockpick at any point? I'm going for 7 members with 1 spot open to recruit someone, but that means I have no thief. Would it be worth it to cut my necromancer (who is only there to raise dead my aeorb sage if he dies) for the thief?

You get raise dead in crowl which is after the first dungeon. But you can learn lockpicking with bard. Any class can learn it, so just make the bard your primary lockpicker.

Well, for starters, we all know that developer of this game is ... , well, ... he's not the nicest person on this planet. He's actually a real ... oops... won't go there, but you can imagine what I wanted to write :)

Because of that, I really, REALLY wanted to hate this game, so I can refund it and leave a negative review. But I can't. I'm pretty honest guy IRL so I will write this :

No matter the developer's behavior, this game is good. This is, if you are into 90's RPG's of course. If you are a fan of Wizardry 7, then you'll love this game. It's deep, it's detailed... lots of content. And it "pulls you in" if you know what I mean.
If you are looking for shiny realistic 3d graphics, easy to play game that doesn't require actually using your brain, then avoid this. It's not for you.

So, if you can ignore the fact that this developer is an ... well, not nice :) ... and you don't mind giving him your money, then yes, this game is worth the 40$ he's charging.
Was a very hard decision to take my wallet and give this guy some of my hard earned, ... but I don't regret it.

Grimoire is an elite game that is unlike anything else up on the Steam store. I defy you to find anything like it in the thousands of games listed. I defy you to find a game like it on the planet. It's not even a Wizardry clone really - it's everything Wizardry should have been but never was.

I'm not competing with Sir-Tech any more. Amongst other reasons, they went bankrupt 17 years ago.

I'm not competing with anybody. Grimoire is the pinnacle of the peak of the summit of the incline. I could probably get 99.95 from a lot of people but I don't want to limit it just to the very elect of RPG players. I made a compromise and and priced it somewhere just under current AAA titles. The truth is there is not an AAA title you could buy nowadays that deserves to crawl up on a high chair and plant a kiss in the crack of Grimoire's ass when it comes to enjoyment, immersion and wonderful escape.

I say all this with confidence because I have been playing my game 12 hours a day for two months and I can assure you there has never been anything like it in all of recorded human history. It's the greatest thing ever to emerge from that genre. The fact is, people who enjoy that genre are considering it cheap at that price. If you are not a connoisseur of the genre then why would I amend anything in it to appeal to you? It's like saying Mozart needed more cowbell.

Trust what I am saying. Those of you who played the demo and got the scent of greatness will know the full game has achieved it. For whatever it lacks it has much more in abundance.

I was just playing Kublai Cathedral to check all the logic and was almost weeping tears of joy at how wonderfully told the story of everything is in the game. I had forgotten a lot of it and it was like reading the work of someone else.

although i have a sneaking suspicious this is only a release in title only, while in actuality its more akin to an open beta since its apparently full of game breaking bugs
