I've also had this issue occur when I played a lot of BotW in dock mode. I called their customer support (which is great) and they set up a repair date but I got lazy and never sent it in. I still have until next March and since I don't care for Arms or $60 Splatoon DLC I'll probably wait until Mario comes out to get it repaired.
