AVGN was never ever funny, and he got less funny as time went on.

I was 11 or 12 when he started becoming a noteworthy online figure. I watched those videos as they come out, people on IRC and MSN Messenger wouldn't stop showing them to me. It just wasn't funny then.

I really admire the effort he went to in his videos. At the same time, during the earliest days of "internet personality critics," he did put more work into his shit than others did. But in service of what? Unfunny bullshit. And he got wildly popular for spouting that unfunny bullshit. God, it's annoying.

And it isn't annoying because he did well. He's a successful man who does work to earn his keep. Nothing wrong there. It's annoying because fucking normalfags who have never touched retro games in their lives dismiss my dislike of him as me just "not liking old games," or "not getting it." No I get it, it's just not entertaining, insightful, funny or worthwhile.

AVGN has made a good living and I admire that, he just makes shitty content.

The interesting part of this statement is that there's many modern era episodes where he's not even angry anymore. He's very mellow and when he's like that, he gives a lot of history and insight on the game. Zo is Heather's twin they are not the same person. Heather and Zo were put up for adoption and were separated.
