I fucking hate Nintendo. The N2DSXL feels like a piece of shit and has even worse TN screens than the 3DS. The 3DS has been out for over 6 years now and the "new" new 2DS XL that removes the 3D feature still costs $150.

There is no reason for the N2DSXL to cost over $80. Fucking awful outdated hardware that plays games at 240p, pretty much half the resolution of a GameCube game. The build quality is awful, the hardware is awful, the price is awful, and the games library is the only positive.

Better buttons my ass. Mushy face buttons and breakable shoulder buttons made me almost regret getting into the 3DS Library. Luckily I got a N3DSXL shortly after. As for those two being compared, the only thing improved is the nub being tolerable.

It's a budget console, what did you expect? It's good if you're tight on cash, but if you want a quality product pay the extra for an n3ds

I have the old, original 3DS XL and was thinking of upgrading to a New 2DS XL but maybe I'll wait for a price drop. I just wanna hack my 3DS really but didn't know that was a thing till last week and on latest firmware update sadly

So should I just cough up the extra dosh for a regular 3DS or is this fine? I figured I'd save some money but if it's not as good as the 3Ds I might as well spend the extra money.

You can figure out what firmware n3ds's are on by the serial number so you can buy a new one on 11.3, or you can wait for a new exploit to come out

The n3ds xl is better than the n2ds xl, and I'd say it's worth spending that little bit extra
but if you're looking at an o3ds, I'd say go for the n2ds xl, the "new" stuff is nice to have, and you wont need to buy a new console later if you get into monhun or want snes vc

Even if you don't want the 3d, go for the n3ds
Problems with the n2ds include short as fuck stylus, crappy speakers (that might be blocked by your hands), flimsy top screen, frustrating dust cover, and overall cheap feel

Although, the n3ds does improve the 3d with head tracking, even as someone who never cared for the 3d gimmick, sometimes I like to turn it on

The 3D makes the games look slightly sharper so it's a good idea to leave it on minimum. Also uses the autobrightener, without it the screen looks duller.

If you don't have a lot of money to spare, or can't find enough games to risk spending full price on the n3ds, get the n2ds
If you can find a good number of games you want on the console and can afford it, the n3ds is definitely better
There's no real deal breakers with the n2ds, but it's a budget model, for those you can't afford the real one

Ive seen and heard conflicting things about the n2DSXL speaker. Some say its great and others act like they are def at max volume. On one youtube vid a guy seems like he can barely hear anything, but in a different vid you can clearly hear the 2dsxl in the vid.
With that sad my regular 3DSxl had speakers that werent very loud either so its not really a downgrade to go from that to a 2dsxl

Damn, I was hoping to get one since my OG 3ds is finally starting to shit out with both shoulder buttons and the A button not working. I mainly got the 3ds for Pokemon, AA, Kirby, and a few other games. Should I still get one, or wait to find a decently priced used n3dsXL?

Yes it does and I feel like the battery life isn't very good compared to my original launch 3ds
