My art's been improving a lot since I've discovered /v/ermin, and I've been trying to continue to get better by breaking things I look at down into basic shapes. It really helps me with visualizing how things would look when I draw them.

the hardest part for me so far has been pre-made tilemaps, I find file parsing to be incredibly confusing especially in lua, which is why I spent the weekend working on the easy stuff; the camera system and the rendering side of the tilemapping. this is what my game looked like just 2 days ago, so I made a lot of progress, but I only really get things done on weekends due to my job.
