Green boxes are sometimes where the character's physical body is. Other character's green boxes can't go through it.

The joke, if you can call it that, is some characters have a hitbox (in red), which is where the damage of an attack comes from, that is so near to their hurtbox (in lavender?), which is what registers an attack connecting and therefore the character taking damage, that you're likely to hit them out of their attack with an attack of your own. They might trade, but shit if they're in the air that's still their ass.
Basically it's a high risk low reward move, which begs to question why use it, which begs to question why it's even there. Which begs to question why even pick the character. Which, well you know where this is going.

As for Victor >>386401383 well he's supposed to be a grappler and his command grab range (yellow box) is just shit unless you're humping his leg. There's nothing more to explain.

Throws in Vampire Savior have incredibly short range across the board. Victor is shit for other reasons and his throws are especially bad on account of his having a whiff animation unlike most others. Demitri is the best grappler in the game.

The reason the sprite doesn't show it is because the slash effect is in a separate folder or part of her spritesheet but a separate entity. The reasons is like that is so they can reuse the same slash effect for multiple moves but only need 1 sprite that they can reuse for all of them, saves a bit of space and possibly easier to do.
