I liked it, actually thinking of replaying it. Too bad starting a new save will mean the DLC is gone forever.

Kinda hoping that down the road they do a upgraded remake, throw in co-op/online support

It was my first DQ game, played it right when it came out as like a 5-6 year old. On my first playthrough I never found the dungeon of alltrades abbey, so I skipped straight to the Leviathan as my first fygg boss, all without any party members because I had skimmed over all the dialogue telling me I could recruit people.

Appearances aren't normally a problem for me, but everything about the way IX looks rubs me the wrong way.

Any games with a similar job system?

Grottos were interesting until you learn that the chest rewards are predictable, then they become a joke

Didn't help that the DLC disappeared without an AR

Story was terrible, job system wasn't that complicated, and at the end of it it's just Falcon blade Falcon slash over and over and over again

9 was Enix pushing the DS to its limits, hell if there's one thing people shouldn't be worried about with the Switch port of DQ11 its that Enix will make use of all of the systems power hopefully..

Never played this game. Only played 7 on the 3ds and now 11, so yeah I'm pretty new to DQ.

I like this game but one minor gripe I had with it was that I wished you could have picked your starting class. I really wanted to be a mage from the get go instead of going to All Trades Abby.

Why does the artstyle of IX look so unappealing? It's the same Toriyama approach, so what's off with it? It somehow feels so... bland.

I can't remember but I think there was something that would let your party say random things every now and again.

They don't even appear in cutscenes. It's like they're not even there.
