You may need a patch for resolutions of 1920 x 1080 or higher as well as to control the game speed, and rebind the Flashlight key to something else other than F12 if you get it on Steam and turn up the brightness because shit is dark. Besides that its a legit good game and the game can still draw people in after so many years.

I played this on a new PC and JC seems to walk way faster on the red floor in the tutorial. Is this normal?

I don't understand why my DX1 copy runs at sonic speeds. Everything moves obscenely fast in gameplay.

Can someone explain to me the purpose of that shit? It doesn't matter if I use guns because I spend more time standing still and making sure I can actually hit the target. It doesn't matter if I use melee weapons because the enemies have guns and running like a retard is suicide at worst, waste of cells and medkits at best. I don't even need to pay attention to it when I'm sneaking up on somebody. Is it balanced for lower difficulties or some shit?

All that shit ends up doing is making getting around the larger maps more tedious since I have to pause like every minute to catch my breath. Not exactly a reason to sink points into athletics (the perk that makes you ignore leg damage is nice though).
Then again this is the same mod where the flashlight used to drain 40 energy for no fucking reason. I still love the shit out of it but god damn it, there's always this one thing that makes me wonder what the hell the developers were thinking when they came up with it.

I think it was GMDX I was using a while ago and they made it so you need master computer skill to hack some of the things on the first level. I always appreciate their work from an objective standpoint but I've never really thought any overhaul/gameplay improving mods actually improved any game.

I'm on a stealth play through and got a bit confused by Daedalus telling you that you need to get someone from the lab and bring it to Tracer Tong to save Paul, so I carried Paul's body to Tracer Tong and dropped it in the chamber where he deactivates your kill switch, but Paul's still dead.

When I found Paul's body in the lab I picked him up and carried him all the way to Tracer Tong, because I thought Daedalus was telling me that he could still be saved.

I only put him down every now and then to shoot robots before dumping him outside the Luminous Path hideout, so I could get the sword and him in.

But it turns out that Daedalus' dialogue is the same regardless of whether you went out the window or not.

It actually used an awesome dialogue animation system (for the time) where one of the programmers developed an algorithm to interpret the spoken lines and translate them into movements, it apparently worked so well it didn't need any manual adjustment (iirc, this is from something I read in an interview a few years back, can't find the link). It's nothing by modern standards and it probably wouldn't even work for facial geometry more complex than that, but at the same time it still looks decent enough and considering it uses 0 manual animation it's still impressive I think.
