It could have been a masterpiece if they made the story more about human medieval politics á la Game of Thrones rather than evil human males raping elvish women and muh darkspawn orc ripoff

It's firmly in the "good for what it is" territory. You have to be some Codexian neanderthal wannabe to deny that it's competently made.

Also, Bioware's core audience doesn't really talk about DA1 and ME1, but its sequels. Wonder why. I find it hard to believe when people say ME1 had "aged" when it's barely a decade old.
