Oath in Felghana is really good. Also I'm not sure how far you are OP, but if you beat the game with both Hugo and Yunica you unlock a playthrough with a new character. All 3 campaigns have the same environments, but the story moments and bosses different about 50% of the time. Worth three playthroughs!

Because I started played Ys long before it came to Steam. Origin has far too many problems to be called best of anything, and while Felghana deserves the praise it gets it's not the be all end all of Ys and it never will be.

Ys6, YS: Oath in Felghana, and Ys:Origin all use the same engine and are very similar.

Generally, Ys is a good series and a lot of them are on steam. Check them out. Chronicles is a top down compilation of 1-2. 6 is a bit weak. Oath is great. Ys 7 and 8 are coming to Steam.

Please make sure to buy them, they're cheap and we need more ports like this.

Only played a bit of 7 on the PSP back in the day but from I remember it was pretty damn intense and fun. It's not DMC or anything but for top down games the Ys series is probably the cream of the crop when it comes to combat. It's like Zelda if it was made by Hideki Kamiya.
