I find that this type of addiction actually stems from some of the randomness in the game, not the game itself. same reason why people gamble or check their emails non stop.
It could be is simple as finding an auto match. waiting for 1-5 minutes then suddenly see a MATCH FOUND! is oddly satisfying.
