I wish SotN had something of a combo system for the weapons, like MMX has Zero's zsaber combo, but for some of the weapons, that horizontal slash gets a bit samey.

I feel like the mist and wolf were a bit of letdowns.

Bat and mist basically to the same thing, it would be easier to just merge them and have alucard turn into a flock of bats instead of a big one, but it was pretty cool the first time.

Shame Alucard can't turn into a monster for gameplay.

Something real over the top would be mix of Leon and Trevor's systems from their PS2 games. All subweapons avaliable and multiple crashes avaliable. Perhaps the latter could be given to a Boss Belmont in case we get a metroidvania for a console.

HOL UP. You can use gamemaker or pretty much any other game engine or modded game to create your own Castlevania game. There are tons Castlevania games out there. For OpenBor, Mugen, Gamemaker, Unity and even Minecraft or Warcraft 3. A competent programmer, a spriter and music composer would be enough.
If not you can just look into similar games like Blasphemous, Odallus, Hollow Knight or Brave Earth.
