It's okay, the concept and world are great but the VN's story incredibly underwhelming.

I think Unlimited Blade Works is pone of the coolest powers in fiction.

It ain't all that powerful or useful, but it's just so cool.

Also Shirou manning up as the story goes along is also pretty nice.

Fate/Zero on the other hand somehow managed to take all the stupid shit and make it interesting.

I thought it was fantastic, not as enjoyable as Tsukihime but I think that's more a matter of personal preference. Some parts of the Fate VN dragged on a bit, but it more than made up for that with the fight scenes and overall interesting story.

It's hard to take as story seriously when it breaks its own rules half the time. And don't give me that crap about sabers luck stat somehow overcoming the curse, cause the stats aren't explained at all in any way so it's all just conjecture at best.

Even with UBW which is a counter to gate of Babylon it doesn't explain how shirou suddenly has the superhuman reflexes/quick thinking to react so quickly, especially since he was only training for a few weeks at most.

Fate is really stupid if you actually stop to think about it. It was a fun read but anyone who tells you it is even remotely logical in its own context is retarded. Doesn't help literally every spin-off of it has been shit.

Fate/Zero was legit pre good though

While I hate it too, there's actually an expanation that does actually make some sense: Shirou's interactions with his future self is the equivalent of a mage communing with past lives and acquiring knowledge and even skills from them. Bascially a reverse bleeding effect from Assassins Creed.

I'm really upset at how Medea gets no screen time outside of UBW. She's the most interesting character, she's forced to plan and use tactics instead of spamming a NP.

It's hilarious at times how much of a jobber Sabre is. She even loses to Caster if you don't help her and she's meant to be a hard counter to Casters! Plus it would make more sense for Shirou to stay behind and protect Tohsaka and Illya from zombies.

I've never played it. I've heard it was a porn game and that it would trigger me the same way FE13 and 14 did.
