Actually some of the one's here in Canada are being rebranded as "EBX" instead of "EB Games". I guess the X is just there to convey that they sell more than just games. Inside, there's literally like one wall of games, and the remaining 80% of the store is geek culture shit like figurines, boardgames, plushies, funkos, geek apparel, fidget spinners, and other non-vidya merchandise. This is the state of things now.

Someone explain the appeal of funkopops to me. Every mom 'n pop store I go into devotes like 70% of their shelf space to them. I'm not a toy collector but even if I were, there things are genuinely ugly as fuck. They have no detail, all use the same mold, and are generally just unappealing

I worked at a department store and when Diablo III came out we had a fixture with a huge cardboard Diablo on it. Found it in the back a couple weeks later and asked the manager if I could take it. Ripped Diablo's head off the fixture and it hangs on my mantle to this day.
