The leveling thing was definitely shit, and the crafting system was one of the most ridiculously tedious things I have ever played to the point where I cannot believe anyone actually playtested it, but I think overall the game is an improvement and everything outside of that is very well done, especially the art and music.

My only other gripe is that the game seems very biased towards the law route with the law route getting the majority of chaos/neutral exclusive benefits that it didn't have in the original game, most of the new content/characters AND the new postgame seems to only follow from the law route.

While I do agree that the leveling change made the game UNPLAYABLE, there were good things to the remake too:
>UI looks a lot nicer and is 100 times more informative
>widescreen without stretching is neat
>music is more rich and detailed
>higher resolution portraits and cleaned up dialogue

Though, like you said and as I agreed with, the game is practically unplayable with the new leveling system. Unless you're willing to babysit the fuck out of a brand new level 1 class you're essentially never going to touch the newer classes.

Which is a shame because they're pretty fun.
