I've never understood why people make sweeping generalizations about other races in real life, but I've always found elves fucking irritating in pretty much every game I've ever played. The only time in the last decade that I've given them a chance was as a Dunmer in Morrowind, and that playthrough fizzled out after a few hours. Rerolled as an Orc instead. Spent 20 hours punching the shit out of people as a totally Unarmed character.

Look for Shodycast's playlist on TES lore. It's really long, but informative. Explains it quick and simple.

Skyrim doesn't have class titles but when you do everything a rogue does, you're roleplaying a rogue. Magic was only king in Morrowind and back. Stealth Archery was number one in Skyrim and stealth followed by archery from atop a rock was number one in Oblivion. Magic in those 2 games got fucked by level scaling.
