No OP but I played the Dreamcast TXR back in the day. IIRC the game didn't even tell you what the correct racing path was so if you were ahead and took the wrong road on a fork you would auto-lose.

I never really played any PS2 racing games but I have been in a racing mood lately and just downloaded: TXR Zero, TXR 3, TXR Drift 2, Midnight Club 3 Remix and Gran Turismo 4.

Which one should I play first?

Txr 3. Drift 2 is fun but takes a bit to get used too. You also have to learn how to set up cars to get full enjoy out of it.

Txr3 does have some obscene methods of finding wanderers that range from just drink a certain car to having this specific car on a certain night ending in 2. Some even only show up if you are driving manual transmission only. I remember 1 requires you to go down a highway holding the horn down and over rev at first gear
