Used to have to walk away from the game for a bit as a kid playing this part. Too damn freaky.
>THQ started a multimillion-dollar marketing campaign for Search for Reptar, the second-biggest campaign of 1998
>Search for Reptar was the third best-selling game in the first two weeks from its release in North America.
>Search for Reptar was a consistent chart topper and was described as a "breakout PlayStation hit"
What the fuck happened? It's just a shitty licensed game
This game did an oddly effective job at making you feel pressured. Thats where most of the "spooky" parts of it for me came from as a kid. Not only was it really unsettling due to the tech at the time but the game also frequently pressured you into doing thing often by having something chase you in an ominous way. That shit put me so on edge as a kid.

PS1 licensed games did pretty well. Toy Story 2 is a memorable one. Some of them weren't half bad either.

Do you not remember GOAT games like The Lion King and Animianacs? Licensed games used to have a larger pool of good games vs bad ones.
i dont know why but seeing 3d versions of things in 2d always made me unsettled

yeah it does have a weird creepy vibe for no reason especially the night time level and the store with the clown toys, the music is strangely eerie as well.
Wonder if it's down here
This is better.
