I love this game but the world always felt way too small. Like there are so few locations and the game blows through almost the whole world in the first 10 hours, probably why 3-6 had to do the lazy thing of introducing new worlds. All 3 Guild Wars 1 maps. I love that the game actually lets you map out every corner of the globe yourself and gives you increasingly prestigious Cartographer titles as you progress. Only real shame is that the 3 maps are separated and you can't look at all of them together at the same time.

You're max level before you're half way through the game so everything beyond that becomes a lot less significant. You still have plenty of map before the final boss, the drops are garbage because you probably have more useful equipment of a lower tier and more buff and healing potions than you know what to do with.

- pretty big, but still reasonably sized
- one large city, a few smaller settlements
- countryside so it isn't just urban areas but not too much
- borders that actually make sense

Measure the speed and then just run from the northernmost point to southernmost point and from east/west to west/east as straight as possible. You can measure the speed either by looking on an in-game indicators, like distance to quests or just by finding something with measurements and using it in relation to your movespeed. It's not like oceans are interesting IRL as well. "Interesting" oceans in games have to work in a way fundamentally different than the ones we have; this is a creative task most developers probably shy away from. What could you do? Make the ocean a clusterfuck of storms, kraken and other dangers? Traverse it in a submarine? What about the borders? Filling an ocean under the surface with content would make the size of the game explode; since it is three-dimensional space. And if you just slap a shitton of islands in the middle of the ocean, you could just as well play a cutscene between each of them.

You see, it's just easier that it's done right now.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon rising has a huge, incredibly realistic and fun to play map. It feels incredibly good since they fucking scanned and reproduced a real island. It's such a waste, the game is short and it doesn't let you fuck around, and they didn't put some more points of interest
I'm absolutely sure if an autistism fueled community like ARMA took that map it would be awesome to play it
