this isn't the same type of deal though, Zelda has a small ammount of characters in each game, if your only going to consider a small roster it ends up working well since your only pulling characters that will have a really different playstyle and story, an FE Musou would be a lot more similar to traditional Dynasty Warrios with dozens of characters very similar to each other, ideally you want to have a character to represent every class and weapon, with what their planning there's no way we get the 50+ roster we would need to make this game what we always wanted it to be.

This isn't 1997 and we're not playing it on PlayStation, adding playable characters by the dozen is par for the course for Koei at this point, they already have tons of templates they can use for Lance Wielding charcter and Sword wileding charcaters, Ninja's, Cavalry units and on and on, I don't see what the problem is with being to have more characters in it just as generics, I'm not expecting my Gwendolyn to have her own unique weapon and moveset and her own story scenario, but seeing in the game would be really cool regardless so do the days worth of work it would take to put her in.

DW7 still had some clones and even after fixing the gameplay was still missing basic staple attacks like jump charges.
