PC population from what I understand is less than PS4 unless you're EU for some reason, but i've never had difficulty finding any matches, it helps that the connection for PC is better than PS4 so you can play with people in other countries with like 5-6 frame delay which I never find to be bad

I hit the arcade whenever a fighting game gets a new release to see what's up, and I rarely see people playing GG. It just doesn't seem big in my area.

I went yesterday to check out Jubei and it was jumpin'

As a fighting game lore fag, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really wish GGXrd's story didn't move as fast as it did. They literally presented and resolved an arc that would've taken any other fighting game at least three or four individual entries/updates. While I commend them on that, I still really liked Ariel's personality (her scenes were great,) and she had a cool sword. Would've been neat to see her as a fully realized character.

It took me more than 4 hours to beat Sol's basics 06 combo tutorial, the bandit revolver never landed and I don't know why, I guess I was doing it too slowly, I managed to land it eventually but I have no idea how, it was pure luck, and I don't really feel happy with the result, but I just decided to continue, basics 07 wasn't that hard, only took about 30 minutes, but I'm looking at basics 08 and I think this is gonna take me twice as long as basics 06 if not more. You guys weren't kidding when you said Guilty Gear was kinda hard.

Also, fuck those Z motions, do they feel more natural with a stick? Because they don't at all with a keyboard.

Don't solely focus on combos. Trust me, I can't tell you how many I people I know that just do HS-HS-HS-HS-Dust when they land a stray launcher. Very few a capable of doing jab-jump cancel-kick combos that make up a big part of the Trials mode.

As for the Z motion, I actually play on a Hitbox. The only time they feel unnatural is when you have to do them backwards, or towards the left. I've found that holding the last directional input for the motion tends to help get the move I want out.

there's one good thing to do is to be able to control the 1-hit tuner ball in neutral, and make it accompany you. It actually lets you do some more risky stuff, since the ball will cover your ass.
Try also to not depend only on 5H/6K when doing a 3-hit tuner ball mixup. It's super easy to block, like you can FD and do 14141414 and you'll block it easily. You be rather creative and make it so they block the ball twice, and you throw them into the last hit of the ball to get a combo out of it.
Don't rely on tuner ball too much on Faust, since he doesn't give a shit about it.
Don't try to rely on your 2P too much. Yes, it's hella good, fast, can lead into 2D. But frametraps are still a thing. Same goes for 6H. But be sure to make your opponent aware that you're ready to use it.
If the opponent isn't good at anti-airing/IBing the air dive special, don't hesitate to abuse it.

Xrd feels more like a return to X though, especially when you look at Venom or Johnny, they feel way more like their X counterparts than XX, even the music feels like a return to X.

Slayer has been severely neutered to the point that this is his worse incarnation in the series, they got rid of 50% of his old options and gave him Helter Skelter, which while not a bad tool puts way too focus on Dandy Step, which was already fine, Slayer lost all of his feints, BBU, forward FB Dandy and had many of his remaining moves nerfed, undertow also looks like shit compared to the old undertow.
Overall I still question the changes of all the existing cast, but it's clear icchan wanted to start all over again, so I can deal with that as long as the games get better, which is what's happening, slowly, but it's happening.

Pretty much, granted that Rev2 did buff his bite, but I'm glad there's no bite loops, shit was unfun and I tell this as a longtime Slayer main.
I still can't understand why they chose to remove the feints though, Slayer capitalizes on mindgames more than most of the cast, losing even the Dust feint is pretty bad since you're forced to RC if you want to mix things up.

For me the only legit neutral options i find that are either playing the floor is lava and air dashing spamming H or S looking for a hit confirm to go into 2kpp or kkk you can really keep the same ground play as other chars.

The other option is playing neutral swords, even though they can be knocked down i find a lot of people still get caught by them just dont rely on it to much.

but other than that yeah just get them stuck in the corner and unga away.

Because as much as people like to say he's braindead (or any character for that matter, like Leo) he's hard when you reach mid-level. Shitters who pick up Sin would probably beat people of the same level but once they start blocking low and the Sin user doesnt realize that theyre wasting precious calories, Sin suddenly becomes a sitting duck. Sin requires discipline in terms of using his specials and almost commands a decent understanding of hitconfirms and basic fundamentals like safejumps to make sure his normals confirm to his specials. You see Machaboo do this all the time, he likes to play it safe.

As for scummy mixups, Sin has those but requires some level of execution and meter to pull off. His Voltaic Deign 50/50s into fuzzy overheads come to mind, as well as his corner loops off rising j.H overhead. He used to be absolutely dumb back in Rev1, with his +2 Elk Hunt and low recovery Beak Driver, but he's been nerfed ever since. I do think he's still one of the better characters to use online though,since his basic combos are very lag friendly.

What the fuck is the frame perfect magic needed to land the kick (6th hit) after the parry? The AI techs out of it just as it's about to hit. I have no understanding on how to make it hit after an hour of practicing this shit.

Nah it's not the same Pot. The other one used an all gold and black skin and also beat the salty elphelt player prettt badly.
