is it normal for me to struggle with this game? i've beaten it but i couldn't do some of the last levels without savescumming. I feel like I suck absolute ass however at the same time I blame "pixel perfect jumps", but deep down I know it's just me not understanding the hitboxes in the game whatsoever. King K Rool took me hours alone just to beat, as embarassing as it sounds.

However, I gotta agree, this is definitely a 9/10-10/10 game

I played this game for the first time in grade 7 on the Wii virtual console... never played the SNES version. Anyways. I played it once, beat it, fast forward to 3 years ago when I'm 21 years old and I purchased a Super Nintendo off amazon with all 3 DKC games and marathon'd them all. I have such crazy nostalgia for DKC2 I feel like I played it when I was a small child but I never did, yet there is this weird nostalgia there... I think it's just the music, as the music is completely 100% video gaming perfection as far as sound tracks go.

Honestly, why would you even bother playing anything other than the original SNES versions? The GBA's low resolution and saturated colors seem like a big turn off for many people.

The extra content is nice (especially in 3 where there is a whole extra world) but the drop in graphic and sound quality can really ruin the experience for most people. The stupid DK64 sound effects don't help either, which is a shame because I think the sound design of the originals are practically perfect. Well the name implied it was a simple nostalgia cash grab. When it outsold Zelda like DKC always did, they couldn't just ignore it, which is why they made Tropical Freeze with the same single animal buddy and added Dixie and Cranky as powerups. There was some improvement, but still a lot missing.
