It is if you're just going for beating Normal. Builds that aim for Hell are boring as fuck because you put all your points into 1 skill until you're level 50 or something.

I only play Diablo in single player mode.
The isolation of your character on the screen adds so much to it.
Diablo 2 if it was as Christian Satanic as 1 and less Fantasy it would have been on the top 5 of the goatest games.

More items, better NPC companions, a whole new act which is the best one in the game, higher resolution. There's also two new classes, but I wouldn't worry about that. Diablo 2 is all about the Bonermancer.

Diablo 1 is the superior single player game. Lots of quests and certain items are guaranteed to drop to give you an edge.
Diablo 2 has better multiplayer with lots of abilities that focus on teamwork. Unique items are a lot more rare so you kind of have to trade with people to get what you are looking for. Also completing the game on normal doesn't let you see many cool items or abilities.
Both are lots of fun though.

I actually like Act 3.
Act 4 is the real disappointment though. There's basically only 2 zones. Those obsidian cliffs and the river of lava. They should have put in an additional zone like Diablo I's Hell. Weird bone and flesh walls.

It is great, but if you truly want to experience the best game in the franchise, play 1.
It is an incredibly scary game, I almost feel like there has never been another game with as oppressive an atmosphere of dread.
Perhaps only exanima and maybe demons souls come close to being proper sequels.

I reckon they made 2 far too fast paced and loot-centric, and it moved the series off in a totally different direction from what made the first game so damn good.

The music, the sounds, the environments. None of the sequels could ever compare

Every year I replay diablo with my mate, we set retard rules and then see how far we can go.
Last year we got to the third hell level and got rekt by sneks. The rule was that every time a weapon dropped you had to dump yours and use that.
The other one was that you had to pick only one "school of magic"
I chose utility spells so I could teleport and use man as held.
He filled every room with firewalls.

Fuck it was fun.

I wish I could enjoy Diablo but the controls are just awkward compared to II. II I sadly burned out on by the end of act 4 normal because I just didnt have enough skills to keep it interesting.

Fighting your way up the battlefield with other barbarians is great. The only downside is how fucking long the ice caves are and Bael is pretty weak.
