Heroics are practically impossible to get without abusing the AI.
You need to do shit like hiding your force, and putting two vanguard units at each side of the map, making the AI split their forces and letting you steamroll them.

I mostly find the AI's suicidal cavalry tactics annoying when playing as Dwarfs.
It's not there to win battles, it's just there to give you a minor inconvenience.

Chaos doesn't need anti-large cavalry to buttfuck Elf cavalry. Even the Chaos knights with their lack of armor-piercing damage will annihilate any Elf cavalry due to their ridiculous attack and defense stats. The elves literally cannot engage Chaos in melee, they have absolutely nothing that can bang with the Chosen and not die horribly, even dragons get shredded by Chosen with halberds.

Best fantasy setting. I'm a huge fab of tabletop and like making fun army comps (though there arnt alot of chances for against all odds sort of wins like table top). Lots of shit to try, and the 'just one more turn' level of addiction.

I won't sell you on total war, but i will say that i liked the Warhammer installment waaay more than i thought i would. I generally don't care for Warhammer lore, i think it's silly and generic, but it works really well for a total war game.

If you ever liked a proper TW game you should play this, you will most likely enjoy it, if you do like the lore, consider that nerds say it's sufficiently accurate for their tastes, most of them anyway.

They stack to the point where Basic Goblin units have better attack rating than chosen.
Given that Goblins get 50% less upkeep, you can swarm the map with absolute murder machine Goblin armies.
If you forgo monstrous units and artillery, you can have them all with Vanguard deployment too.

In my game, I build farms everywhere and most of my army stacks are made up of knights. Annexing your neighbours might be good idea if your strength rank is on top 3. If you're playing as the Empire, managing economy is not that hard compared to Bretonnia or other factions.
