Crash always was supposed to have green eyes but his renders didn't. Whereas Sonic's eyes completely changed to green and his eyes were always connected.

I really don't get the hate for Marble Garden. It's probably one of my favorite zones in S3&K. The music is groovy as all hell, the atmosphere is pretty nice, and some of the gimmicks they implemented such as pic related or that blue wheel you spin dashed to raise the floor were really neat.
I want it to back over Hydrocity to return to be honest.
