Most of them are pretty obscure. The two that people would actually recognize...
>Bowser Jr. - One is just Baby Bowser from PiT so no paintbrush/clown car, other is a meme character (the author of that one did try to salvage it at least by removing the Corpse Party assets and whatnot and it actually has a neat mechanic with the clown car firing bullet bills alongside Junior, but stuff like the win quotes still feel pretty unprofessional). It hurts even more that someone ported Smash Junior to SSFII pretty well.

I love the concept, but when you get down to the nitty gritty details it does so much wrong compared to proper fighting games that it's a pain to try and work with. Even trying to recreate a Street Fighter 2 character properly requires all sorts of workarounds.

Fortunately someone's working on a new engine that will basically be Mugen but better.

It's honestly more interesting now, since characters get grouped into tiers via matchmaking based on their win rates within a given tier, so there's more interesting matches that could swing either way instead of constant two second curbstomps

Shit is Janky as fuck if you don't know what you are doing, but it is possible to make a stable, balance game, or even a really fun game. Hyper DBZ is one great example, so is the Castlevania Mugen game.
Plus I remember a 3d mugen but it doesn't seem to be as popular as regular Mugen. We can all just hope one-day Elecbyte or whatever updates the engine.

Just as a forewarning though, one Mugen feature he does not intend to replicate is simul mode. I.e. 4 characters fighting at once. That inevitably leads to all sorts of issues at a fundamental level, and he's said he's just not going to bother with it. You will get proper tag teaming, though.

Yes, there are tag add ons for Mugen, which if I remember correctly are actually based on unused code in the official Mugen engine. Elecbyte was apparently planning on adding it but never really finished it.

It REALLY DOES NOT HELP that the MFG is like the #1 go-to place for any real MUGEN info going on, otherwise it's all underground shit, pockets of life if you know where to look and can crack the 'Speak Easy' to fit in.
