Alright /v/, it's time to lay it on the line.
Name 1 {one[uno(ichi)]} thing Breath of the Wild did that wasn't done better in previous open world games.

But there are enemies you literally can't kill until you acquire more durable weapons and increase your inventory size, both of which can only be achieved by following the game's intended progression.

You can though, not the games fault you are an unimaginative fuck.

World-character interaction? Coming back to other similar games feels damn stiff.

You can kill any enemy at any point in the game using the tools that were given to you on the Great Plateau. (Stasis, Bombs, and Magnesis)
What game had more freedom then Breath of the Wild? You can climb anything and go anywhere from the second you get the Paraglider.

The only tool that inflicts damage is bombs.
You will never defeat ganon by throwing bombs at him unless you want to waste a couple hours of your life.

Crackdown 1 on Xbox 360 achieved BotW's freedom of progression ten years ago and unlike BotW it's a game where you actually feel like you're becoming more powerful as the game goes on.

You do know the game is speed run in less than an hour, right? After getting off the plateau there is no intended progression
I guess if you try to take on lynels right after getting off the plateau you might have to do farming or something, but no enemy is really required to beat in the game besides the final boss(es). You could just run around enemies if you don't have the right qeapons

I don't think minecraft is even the same genre, or comparable in that regard. It's too different of a kind of game.
