CPU's can handle plenty. Past 80 is where the actual bad zone starts. Anything before that is fine as long as you're not doing it 24/7, at worst you lose like 6 months of life out of the thing.

I have an i7 920 in another machine I've been OC'ing from 2.65ghz standard to 3.8ghz since I got it in 2008. Still works just fine, nearly 10 years old.

Feels good man. I have a high end gaming PC in my bedroom but all I play on it are games from 2007 or older. Newest game I played was Pillars of Eternity and that wasn't that graphically intensive either. Seriously regret building my PC so strong.

My i7 920 died a year ago. I had it overclocked to 4.5ghz for years and was rendering on it and everything.

I then upgraded to i7 6700k. I don't even notice a fucking difference in speed. I genuinely feel scammed by Intel. How could a CPU that is almost 10 years old be just as fast as the newest high-end model.
