Graphically it looks 7 years older than it actually is, it's on a shitty engine that should have been buried a decade ago, there was no real reason to remove random encounters and it's literally unfinished.

But it also gives player build freedom beyond three skill trees, has literal years of replayabilty to where many consider annual runs of the game a staple, your choices actually matter to the point where there have been debates on /v/ as to who the best choice for the Mojave is for almost 10 years and running, the slow and clunky combat is saved with custom ammo crafting, weapon mods, and unique variants of weapons that are straight upgrades as a base, but lose the utility of being modable, all four dlcs are amazing despite all having flaws equal to their strong points, and it's the last true WRPG since it's been made, as everything else to date is just a mediocre shooter with a skill tree.

Absolutely overrated, but for a good reason. Nothing has come out like it since, despite games of it's kind being a staple of the medium.
