I can go no further. You alone must stand against the Prince of Destruction and his mortal servants. He must not have theOblivion thread!

As flawed as it is, still the best game of all time
No Witcher, Skyrim or Dragon Age comes close
Oblivion Thread actually sounds like an awesome name for some kind of dimension binding lore item.

I'm about 4 hours into my first real modded playthrough, don't think I can make it to the end. Which is crazy because I love this game to death, but it just doesn't feel right. I blame the fact that my level scaling mods don't appear to be working properly and the vanilla all-out-slugfest is insane.
I know that Oblivion is superior to Skyrim in terms of RPG elements and definitely in terms of available quests, but the combat, which is at the core, really suffers in Oblivion and detracts from the experience for me. Skyrim combat isn't much better but it feels much less clunky by comparison, something I didn't expect until I started Oblivion again.
Also, having come from Morrowind, it's ridiculously easy to have like 5000 gold in an instant without using exploits like you can in Morrowind. I can literally buy everything bar a few 14000 gold enchanted items, it just feels unbalanced. I want to work for money and it feels like I'm being handed gold on a silver platter
